Banned Adverts: Nivea Anti-Aging Cream

banned adverts of nivea anti-aging creamHere is one of another banned adverts. This time is Nivea Visage for suggesting that the cream could deliver permanent benefits.
The banned advert for Nivea DNAge Cell Renewal Day Cream said: 'An innovation in skincare, which boosts surface skin cell renewal leaving you with noticeably firmer looking skin.'
But according to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the headline claim was misleading. The claims appeared to suggest the changes achieved would be permanent, but there was no clear basis of evidence to make the claims. ASA said consumers might think that the product had more than a temporary, visible effect on the skin and some could infer that it had a long-lasting or permanent effect. [source]
