Banned Adverts: Revivo Herbal Tea

banned adverts reviviherbal tea which claimed to destroy hivThe latest list of banned adverts is Revivo Herbal Tea. Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned the tea advert because it claimed to contain 11 Chinese herbs which destroys HIV.
The ASA said in a ruling released this week that the marketers of Revivo tea had produced no credible evidence that the tea had any effect on HIV or Aids.
The banned adverts claimed: "Eleven of them showed significant activity against the HIV virus. Five of them destroyed more than 95 percent of the virus. The safest and most effective of these herbs are contained in Revivo. Shouldn't you know more about Revivo then?"
Interestingly, the website of this banned adverts also claimed Chinese herbal medicine had been treating HIV and Aids successfully "even before HIV and Aids was recognised".
