Banned TV Adverts: Madonna Pepsi Controversy

banned tv adverts of madonna and pepsi controversyRemember one of the more popular banned TV adverts twenty years ago (1989) featuring the Queen of Pop Madonna singing her smash hit "Like A Prayer"?
At that time the controverial Cola War was raging and bubbling all over. Pepsi paid Madonna $5M for this 2-minute advert and also sponsored the singer's concert tour for later that year.
But the commercial was pulled out and never screen again, all because an influential church groups in the United States had threatened a mass boycott of Pepsi products, troubled by the Catholic-born star's ongoing flirtation with religious imagery.
I love the ending part of this banned TV adverts where Madonna telling her young self "go ahead, make a wish" - as they both drink Pepsi.
